Welcome to St. John the Baptist for another great school year! My name is Myriam Fuentes, and I have been part of the amazing St. John the Baptist School community since 2013. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies with a minor in Social Work from San Jose State University, and I have completed my teaching credential work in 2024.
I've always loved working with kids, and I'm thrilled to be able to keep doing what I love. I will always attempt to include fun and engaging activities in our everyday learning because I think that kids learn best via practical experiences when exploring new ideas.
Your third grader is in store for many fun, meaningful and exciting learning experiences this year.

I'm excited to be part of the St. John the Baptist School community. Our school is more than just a place to learn; it's a nurturing environment where students grow spiritually, intellectually, and socially. We foster a strong sense of community, where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and valued. My focus on faith, academics, and character development creates a well-rounded education that prepares students for a lifetime of success. I look forward to working together with you to create a positive and enriching learning experience for your child.
Hello SJBS community! My name is Chloe Van Syckel, and I am honored to be the fifth-grade teacher here at St. John the Baptist Catholic School. A proud New Jersey native, I earned my bachelor’s degree in politics from The Catholic University of America in 2022 and graduated in June 2024 with a Master of Arts in Teaching from Santa Clara University.
I am incredibly excited to embark on this journey with your children and feel truly blessed to guide them as they grow in their faith. This year, we’ll explore the wonders of fractions, dive into captivating novels, and deepen our understanding of the Mass and the beauty of the sacraments. I look forward to getting to know and love each one of your children.
